Founder/President, Purpose Journey, Inc. and Empower Parties™

Lisa Gruenloh, MA, ACC founded Empower Parties in 2008 to more deeply fulfill her passion for helping people develop and pursue their life vision, achieve their goals and be truly joyful. She is a Certified Professional Coach, credentialed by the International Coach Federation.

Lisa believes coaching is a unique and powerful opportunity to develop a new way of thinking and acting every day that makes it possible to seek and live our life purpose, improve relationships, overcome obstacles and manage change, and maintain a sense of inner peace no matter what our life's circumstances. Prior to her coaching career, Lisa had a diverse professional background in public relations, political communication and journalism. With extensive experience in crisis management, media training, and employee engagement, Lisa has provided senior communications counsel for government, business and advocacy leaders.

Lisa has worked with clients in a wide variety of industries at some of the nation's leading public relations firms. As a vice president at Golin/Harris International, Lisa planned media relations activities for Arlington County, Va., which led the 10-day rescue and recovery effort at the Pentagon following the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack - developing strategy for the release of the After Action Report and leading media efforts for the one-year anniversary of 9/11.

Much of Lisa's career was spent in Washington, D.C., where she served as communications director and spokesperson to members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. Lisa also served as a Clinton administration appointee at the National Credit Union Administration. Prior to that, she was a reporter and producer at two National Public Radio affiliates and a freelance journalist.

Lisa earned her master's degree in Public Communication from American University in Washington, D.C. She graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in Government and Broadcasting. Lisa continues to serve Northwest on the Department of Mass Communication's Professional Advisory Council. Continuing education includes certificate programs in Six Sigma Green Belt, Organizational Leadership, Business Analysis and Project Management from Villanova University.

Pro bono and volunteer work is an important part of Lisa's life. She enjoys contributing time to the advocacy efforts involving children living with disabilities and disadvantaged children and families. She works with the Naples Equestrian Challenge, Ronald McDonald House and Humane Society. A former lifeguard and swim instructor (in her youth!), she also is a certified Water Safety Instructor with the American Red Cross and volunteers her time to teach kids life-saving information and skills.
