The Art of Mind Feng Shui
At the heart of Feng Shui we find the art of creating balance. By using this ancient Chinese practice we can, with intention, place and arrange objects in a space in order to be in harmony with the environment. We then walk through that space, sit in that space, create in that space and use that space with a feeling of aahhh… a feeling of peace, as sense that we are truly and joyfully home.
What would it be like to use that same intention in our minds? What would it be like to experience mind Feng Shui? We entertain in our minds many, many thoughts and ideas. Numerous thoughts and ideas are creative, productive and useful for a happy, healthy, positive, energetic and affluent life. However, several may not be conducive to being in harmony with our environment, with other people or with having a flow of health and success. Perhaps then our Feng Shui work is to observe, sort and place our thoughts and ideas in the space of our consciousness that results in peace
And harmony within.
Let’s take some examples of observed thoughts and ideas that if allowed to run rampant in patterns of our minds cause anxiety, frustration and disharmony:
- “I have so much to do… I’ll never be able to accomplish what I should in the way I should do it.”
- “Things are just not going the way I thought they would… I might as well give up.”
- “If he/she would just change, life would be so much better.”
- “If I don’t fulfill all of these ideas right now my business will never be successful.”
- “I’m just not doing it right.” (Whatever “it” is.)
So how do we sort, place and arrange these ideas and thoughts in consciousness so that we can feel at peace in ourselves and harmonious in ourselves and with our environment? Let’s use a few spiritual tools to Feng Shui our minds.
1. Contemplative Focus. Sit quietly and listen to your Inner Woman Wisdom after you ask this question, “What is the highest and grandest idea concerning __________________?”
(And, you fill in the blank… this project, this relationship, this business or whatever else comes to mind…)
2. Contemplative Release. Sit quietly and listen to your Inner Woman Wisdom after you ask this question, “What is mind to release concerning _____________________?”
3. Contemplative Embrace. Sit quietly and listen to your Inner Woman Wisdom after you ask this question, “What is mine to accept or receive concerning ________________?”
4. Contemplative Sorting. Sit quietly and listen to your Inner Woman Wisdom after you ask this question, “What is mine to put on hold,… to put in the folder called, WAIT.”
5. Contemplative Surrender. Sit quietly and listen to your Inner Woman Wisdom after you ask this question, “What is mine and only mine to do?”
As we practice Contemplative Meditation, guidance is revealed to us that we, with our ego minds, might otherwise miss. We co-create with the Universe as we establish harmony within and therefore in our outer lives. As our thought energy flows the forms of our lives follow.
What thought and idea patterns are in your mind today? Is it time to practice a bit of Mind Feng Shui?
